I guess that M button is a Miyoo button? Perhaps that functions like "home".

@-wc- There's such a big market for miyoo upgrades that you'll find specialty buttons in no time on the net, even playstation shapes buttons.

@Thomystic It's a button for going back to the menu and also special features, it's also present in the past miyoo mini models. But calling it a miyoo button is even better than "Menu"!

I hate how they put those analogue sticks on everything barely able to handle PS1 emulation. I'm perfectly fine with up to 16 bit and some GBA (technically 32 bit, isn't it?). No analogue sticks needed for that.

I'd love to have some modern, sleek reimagination of the original GBA, formfactor wise it was a godsend! Loved it!

As I kid I adorn these vertical oriented handhelds but as an adult now these handhelds are just too squish for me to hold and enjoy. This is also the reason why I didn't buy into the PlayDate and the Analogue Pocket, the vertical oriented design just don't work with me anymore. Not sure why those same companies couldn't also make a landscape version so adult gamers like myself could also enjoy it.

Implying that everyone who bought a DMG-sized handheld in the last few years are all kids?

I mean, personal preference is one thing, but to imply that one is lesser for having different preferences is something totally different.

I like the sticks but I wonder if it’s hand crampy?

@Serpenterror the pocket has some nice 3d printed handels you can buy though .. so might suit you

(for me personnaly i love the form factor but can appreciate it doesn't fit everyone)

@farrgazer As a kid holding a vertical oriented handheld works for me but as I become an adult, holding a handheld like that isn't comfortable to me anymore. I never imply that anyone who still enjoy a vertical oriented handheld as kids. I'm only talking about me, not you or anyone else.

@romanista While that's nice it would be better if they just made a landscape version, I don't want to buy extra on top of the already premium product.

Well it is a nice design where you can get away with not using a case.

@Poodlestargenerica If it's powered like a regular Miyoo Mini, it won't do much beyond the odd PS1 and N64 game. Otherwise, yes I'd agree.

@farrgazer No he just stated HIS hands grew too large, which happened with adulthood. Not everyone has large hands. Some can stand handcramps better. But yes, generally, hands grow larger as we become adults.

@Scollurio I think I actually made the exact comment about sticks on the original, or some similar device, so I get what you mean. I'm hoping it can do up to psp/3ds, some people have mentioned ps2 but that seems like a pipe dream.

@-wc- @-wc- I agree, miyoo's big seller is on its minimalist look and how well they execute it. These sticks distract from that. Plus they are places so awkwardly that you'd uncomfortably have access to the face buttons. I think this is indicating it can emulate more than PS1, however the sticks are still not in an optimal location.

you nailed it, they are signalling that it can emulate console games of beyond ~1995, but its just not the form factor for that imo. ✌️

All the people complaining about sticks, this isn't for you, it's for me. They could barely have designed a better device for what I want. There's at least a one schmup a article on this site every week, and none of them are for me. Not everything is for every person. I can't wait to get this thing day one.

the analog sticks ruin the device. since it will primarily be used for consoles prior to the ps1, there is no need for them. heck, i never even owned analog controllers for my ps1 and wouldn't miss them for ps1 games either (i believe ape escape may be the only ps1 game that actually required the feature). and let's no kid ourselves, i'm sure they will feel terrible to use anyways as this is a budget device afterall.

Even if it was inspired by the SP, I wouldn't use the SP photo for this article about the flip.
It's not like they are using the same case (as some interesting diy proyects or the ExeQ gamebox do), showcasing whatever scarce images there are of the prototypes would have been cooler.
